Today Verizon Wireless announced a new partnership with Real's Rhapsody music service and MTV. For $15 per month, subscribers to Verizon's V CAST Music with Rhapsody service will have unlimited access to Rhapsody's 5 million songs both online and via their phones. Over-the-air downloads will still cost $1.99, but you'll be able to download one version for your phone, as well as an unprotected master file for your PC that you can burn to CDs and play on multiple machines or devices. Subscribers to the service can also download tracks directly from Rhapsody to their PCs for 99 cents. These tracks are also free of DRM and can be burned or played on or transferred to multiple machines. The service also allows users to manage their purchases and library with Real's software. V CAST Music with Rhapsody is available on V CAST-compatible phones beginning today.
