A group of four fashion phones, the
Nokia Supernova Range are all GSM-only handsets
with an emphasis on value, mostly due for release in
the third quarter of 2008. We will cover the handsets
in more detail later, but for now this is a quick overview
of the Supernova range.

7210 Supernova
Slated to cost €120 before tax and subsidy,
the Nokia 7210 Supernova is the cheapest of the bunch.
For that you get a GSM phone with a 2" 240 x 320
pixel display, microSD expandable memory, a 2 megapixel
camera, FM radio, media player and Bluetooth.
It's quite a slim phone at 10.6mm thick,
and it weighs around 90 grams including the battery.
It looks to be a pretty good value for money handset
overall, with quite stylish looks.

7310 Supernova
A little more expensive than the 7210
at €155, the Nokia 7310 Supernova has a very similar
specification. The screen is a little better though,
as is the video capture resolution, battery life and
the 7310 is a little lighter.
There's also an optional TV output cable
for the 7310, but other than that there isn't much to
choose between this and its slightly cheaper sibling.
The 7310 is available now in certain markets.

7510 Supernova
The 7510 Supernova is a clamshell member
of the family, and has a larger internal display
- this time a 2.2" QVGA panel in 16 million colours.
There's also a secondary external display, and this
time the two megapixel camera comes with an LED flash.
It shares the FM radio, expandable memory
and Bluetooth with other phones in the range, but all
those extra features make it much heavier at 124 grams.
The estimated price will be €180 before tax and subsidy.

7610 Supernova
Featuring a much better camera than
other phones in the range, the Nokia 7610 Supernova
has a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and an LED
flash, plus some image editing software.
It is quite a bit more expensive than
other phones in the range at around €225 before tax
and subsidy, but the camera quality should be significantly
better. Video capture resolution is also not bad with
a maximum capture rate of 15 frames per second in VGA
resolution.
The Supernova range are all quite smart
looking phones, but a great deal more conventional than
what has gone before. One key thing missing is 3G -
the 7510 and 7610 could probably benefit from this,
but of course that would have added to the price. We
would expect these handsets to sell quite strongly,
especially the 7210 in the prepay market.
