Sprint Introduces Caption Service for Hard of Hearing

Today Sprint released a new service that will help those who are hard of hearing to participate in phone conversations more easily. The service is called WebCapTel. It works with any landline or cell phone, and will display captions of the phone conversation in a web browser so those that have a hard time hearing can see the speaker's written comments. Users will have to sign in to use the service, and Sprint says captions are translated into text and appear in real-time as the person speaks. Users will be able to adjust the font size and color to something that works for them, and the conversation can also be saved. It will work with calls made to or from U.S. numbers, but not international locations. WebCapTel is free.
