LG Rumor Reviews
CNET reviews the LG Rumor and writes, "Another big upgrade from the F9200 is that the Rumor has a 1.3-megapixel camera instead of the F9200's VGA. The camera takes pictures in three resolutions (1280x960, 640x480, and 320x240), three quality settings, and four color tones. Other options include a self-timer, a brightness setting, white balance, and the choice of four shutter tones (plus a silent option). There's also a camcorder that can record up to two resolutions (176x144 and 128x96), with similar settings and options with the still camera. Photo quality was surprisingly disappointing for a 1.3-megapixel camera. Images seemed pixilated and overcast with dull colors. Video quality did not fare much better."
InfoSync reviews the LG Rumor and writes, "The Rumor's camera wasn't the worst we've seen, but it could use a better lens. Pictures came out looking washed and faded, though details were mostly there, and colors weren't too far off. The phone includes a variety of organization and editing options, pretty basic stuff, but if you want to send your picture to someone, the Rumor is ready for you. You can e-mail, MMS, Picture Mail (isn't that what we just said?) and print your photos, using PictBridge. The camera packs a 1.3-megapixel sensor, but lacks any flash or even a self-portrait mirror. Videos were small and a somewhat blurry, especially as we moved the camera quickly. Lights tended to glow harshly in the video screen, until the phone corrected itself."
LaptopMag reviews the LG Rumor and writes, "The 1.3-MP camera can capture quick snapshots of friends or locations in bright lighting, but that's about all it can do. We liked the quick shutter speed, but the pictures came out blurry more times than not. The camcorder function is a nice bonus, but it produces blurry videos. "
PC Mag reviews the LG Rumor and writes, "The Rumor's flashless 1.3 megapixel camera has a snappy 0.5-second shutter delay. My test phone took adequate but low-contrast pictures as long as there was sufficient light in the room—otherwise the photos ended up too dark to be useful. In Camcorder mode, the Rumor records smooth-but-dim 10-second, 176-by-144-pixel videos. Other bundled apps include a contacts list (but no calendar), voice SMS and Picture Mail capability, a way-too-slow WAP browser, and some game demos."
Digital Trends reviews the LG Rumor and writes, "For a texting-centric phone, we weren’t exactly surprised to see a built-in 1.3 megapixel camera on the LG Rumor while 2 megapixel camera phones have started to crowd the feature phone market. What did surprise us however was that the LG’s camera takes great still photos by 1.3 megapixel camera phone standards. Our test photos had balanced colors, sharp images and relatively low noise levels compared to other 1.3 mp camera phones we’ve seen in the past. Even indoor shots had good colors and looked sharp. The only noticeable handicap this camera phone has is contrast, which leads to white-out in photos that weren’t taken particularly in bright sunlight. The LG’s camera application offers plenty of options if one wishes to tweak the camera settings, which include view mode, shutter/cue sound, brightness, white balance, color tone, quality, self-timer and image enhancer. The camera phone can take still photos in 1280 x 960, 640 x 480 and 320 x 240 resolutions."
