Nokia 7900 Prism Reviews

CNET UK reviews the Nokia 7900 Prism and writes, "For a 2-megapixel camera picture quality was good but it did take a long time to actually save the picture once it had been taken. It's perfectly suitable for MMS messaging and small prints but don't expect great shots in low light."

Mobile Burn reviews the Nokia 7900 Prism and writes, "Nokia's 7900 Prism sports a 2 megapixel camera with flash and video recording capabilities. However, given that there is no dedicated camera key, you're required to setup your own shortcut to quickly activate the camera. I personally found this rather annoying, as I often missed 'spur-of-the-moment' shots while fumbling through menus. Making things worse is the fact that there is several seconds of shutter delay. This has the effect of rendering the flash completely useless, since it fires a too quickly for the camera to be able to capture the shot. The camera is also missing the Night Mode that Nokia's handsets typically have. Video recording is present, but only slightly usable, and the LED flash is not able to be used as a light during video recording, which is a shame. Aside from taking photos in bright, well-lit situations, Nokia might have been better off simply removing the camera from the 7900 Prism altogether."

Trusted Reviews has a review of the Nokia 7900 Prism and writes, "The camera only shoots at resolutions up to 2-megapixels which is entry level for a mobile phone these days. Outdoors it performed reasonably well. The white chair is a little bluer than it should be but I have seen worse. The daffodils were photographed quite close up and their detail has been reproduced fairly nicely. There was a small breeze causing them to move, though, and you will notice that some are a little blurred as a result...The camera includes a fairly standard array of filters, with one interesting addition. The ‘false colours' filter changes the natural colours of an object. Take a look at the extra photo of the coloured dish to see how this works in practice. One other point of note for sharp-shooters is that images seemed to take ages to save."

Pocket-lint reviews the Nokia 7900 Prism and writes, "The rear of the phone sports the unique designs of Frédérique Daubal and the 2-megapixel camera and flash, which will ensure you capture all those nights out at Funky Buddha. However, to keep things clean there are no dedicated buttons for the camera or music player, so everything happens via the menu. As there is no dedicated volume button, the four-way control can be used to raise the volume in-call so you can hear over the music when your agent calls."

Trusted Reviews has a review of the Nokia 7900 Prism and writes, "The built in camera shoots stills at a maximum resolution of just 2-megapixels and it has a flash but not much else by way of fancy features. On test performance was quite mixed. Indoors it struggled a little, but sometimes delivered quite well. The coloured dish, photographed under normal household lighting shows good colour accuracy, as do the pink flowers shot outside, though their detailing is flaky."
