BMI Charts Ringtone Growth
Retail ringtone sales in 2005 are expected to have exceeded $500 million, according to BMI, as reported in Metro West Daily News. This is up from $245 million in 2004 and $68 million in 2003. BMI, which represents over 300,000 songwriters, made its estimates from census-based sales data.
